DUBLIN, Ireland – Moventis TCC, the Joint Venture formed by Moventia and TMB (Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona), joined last month its partner Indra and the National Transport Authority (NTA) for the official inauguration of the new NGT Contactless Project Headquarters in Dublin. The event, presided over by Ireland’s Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan, marks a key milestone in the modernization of the country’s public transport infrastructure.
While Moventis TCC has been active on the project for several months, the inauguration of the Dublin hub serves as a formal recognition of the international partnership working to deliver Ireland’s “Next Generation Ticketing” (NGT) programme. As a specialized subcontractor for Indra, Moventis TCC is responsible for providing Training and Operations Support Services.
Internationalizing the “T-mobilitat” Expertise
Moventis TCC’s participation in the Irish NGT project represents a step towards internationalizing the experience gained through our involvement in implementing the T-mobilitat in the Barcelona area, where both contributed within a multi-stakeholder ecosystem to Catalonia’s transition towards a fully digital, multimodal ticketing system. In this view, the JV provides a unique “operator-centric” perspective that is vital for large-scale technological transitions.
Throughout the ongoing project, Moventis TCC focuses on:
• Operational Know-How: Implementing best practices from the Barcelona model to ensure the Irish system is user-friendly.
• Specialized Training: Preparing local teams to manage the shift to contactless technology through comprehensive knowledge transfer.
• Operations Support: Assisting Indra in bridging the gap between high-tech software delivery and day-to-day transport reality.
A Commitment to Global Mobility
“Attending the inauguration of the Dublin headquarters alongside Indra reinforces our commitment to this project,” said Júlia Farré, Director Business Development at Moventia. “Our team has been working on the ground, applying the lessons learned from the T-mobilitat to help Ireland achieve a seamless, digital ticketing future. We are happy to see how our operational background adds value to global technology projects.”
